Focus and Scope – JPTT : Jurnal Proteksi Tanaman Tropis
Focus
JPTT : Jurnal Proteksi Tanaman Tropis is dedicated to publishing high-quality research articles, reviews, and case studies concerning plant protection in tropical regions. The journal serves as a platform for disseminating scientific knowledge, technological innovation, and practical applications that contribute to food security, agricultural sustainability, and the management of plant pests and diseases in tropical ecosystems.
Scope
The journal welcomes submissions in, but not limited to, the following areas:
Agricultural Entomology : biology, ecology and management of insect pests in food crops, horticulture, and plantation commodities in the tropics.
Plant Pathology : studies in fungi, bacteria, viruses, nematodes, causing plant diseases, as well as the mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions.
Weed Science : identification, biology, and control strategies for competitive weeds and their impact on crop productivity.
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) : development of control strategies that synergize cultural, physical, mechanical, biological, and environmentally friendly chemical techniques.
Biological Control Agents : utilization of natural enemies, predators, parasitoids, and antagonistic microorganism to suppress plant pest and disease populations.
Pesticides and Toxicology : research on pesticide efficacy, pest resistance, pest residue, and the impact of chemical use on agricultural ecosystem.
Plant Quarantine and Biosecurity : pest risk analysis, plant protection regulations, and the prevention of invasive species movement across borders.
Plant Protection Biotechnology : use of genetic engineering, molecular markers, and diagnostic techniques for the identification and development of plant resistance against pests and diseases.
Ecology and Epidemiology : modelling of pest and disease outbreaks, the impact of climate change on population dynamics, and the overall health of tropical agroecosystems.
